Ronald Miller, of Corrigan Moving Systems in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was awarded United Van Lines’ Van Operator of the Year Award for logistics. The award recognizes Miller’s outstanding performance in the areas of customer service and safety. United Van Lines President and CEO Marc Rogers presented the award to Miller virtually at the Company’s recent Learning Conference held in early March.
In his 30 years in the industry, Miller has driven more than 2.5 million miles. Miller’s wife, Terri, rides with him and does all the administrative work including permits, paperwork, etc. Miller enjoys the variety and freedom the job brings to the table. “The best part of the job is just being out and about and never doing the same job twice,” Miller said. “I enjoy being my own boss. They tell me what I need to do, and I do it how I feel it needs to be done. I get it done quickly, efficiently and make the customer happy.”

There are more than 4,000 drivers in the United Van Lines system, and Miller was one of three winners this year. The van operator of the year began in the late 1970s to recognize the men and women who sacrifice so much for a life on the road and who help other families through one of the most stressful times in their lives.
